The swan song of summer is upon us and I’m soaking in these last few weeks before the kids go back to school. We’ve been hanging close to home lately and it’s been filling up my cup. Late nights at the pool, loading up at the farmer’s market (the cherry tomatoes right now especially), slow mornings, beach days, al fresco dinners, tennis mornings and a summer rodeo with friends have been some highlights. I don’t want it to end to be honest!
Some things of note lately…
I love a subtle scent and find my favorite way of wearing it is either through deodorant, lotion or body wash. I’ve been devouring all things Corpus lately after initially discovering their Nº Green deodorant months ago and picked up the body butter and body wash in the same scent, which smells light and fresh but in an earthy way—even my kids beg to use the body wash in the bath. Another scent-sational discovery…
this Saffron & Cedar deodorant and body mist by Salt & Stone that smells amazing, if you like Neroli and Cedarwood you’ll love this one, use my code Samantha15. Lastly, this new hair and body mist by Maison Louis Marie that I’ve been spritzing on as a refresh before dinner or after pilates is great on the go but also I just can’t get enough of the perfectly light, feminine and floral scent—normally I’m not a flowery perfume person at all but this one is different and very subtle.
There is truly nothing better on a warm summer evening than sitting outside around a dinner table with friends. Most nights you’ll find this bottle of Avaline white wine on our table, I crave the refreshing taste on a hot day and I never get a headache from their wines (thanks to the organic grapes and the fact that they don’t add any additives). Also a fan of their Sauvignon Blanc, it’s all so good. And I have a code for you—COULDIHAVETHAT for 15% off and free shipping.

I went to The Inn at Mattei’s Tavern for a quick girls getaway last weekend, always the best kind of fun, and picked up a handful of style nuggets from my friends…
For starters everyone had the coolest jewelry stacks. I went minimal for a while there in the Spring but felt re-inspired to wear more after seeing how my friends were layering their pieces and the chatter about what brands they were loving, where they were finding things etc. Overall we’re really loving a medallion/coin of sorts. I recently picked up this mini imperial disc necklace from Ariel Gordon that I started layering with a couple other pieces and mixing in a paracord necklace I made from this kit—SO much fun. Also excited to share a special discount code with you guys (Samanthaw15) for all things Ariel Gordon.
Another thing that came up with my friends were the amazing Etsy finds we were wearing from this sarong to a fish charm I found and jump rings to mix with higher end pieces/charms. Girlfriend trips are just the best not only for the good laughs and convos but also the swapping of style/life/beauty/all of it tips! We need each other and the cup runneth over after fun times with girlfriends.

Made my first big purchase for Fall, I thought long and hard about this one but I just had to have the beige suede Miu Miu sneakers (a similar $100 option) and I’ve been styling them lately with these socks and lots of shorts—especially this linen pair and these striped shorts. I got these laces from Etsy to try the two-tone laces look (they’re all sold out on Miu Miu) and that sporty paracord detail. But my overall review, they check every box and I’d spend the money again! I’ll be living in these this Fall.
I can’t stop wearing this oversized Jenni Kayne tee that feels boyish (also elevated) and perfect for pairing with shorts—a true summer hero piece, the black or navy colors would be such a great Fall wardrobe investment! Speaking of shorts the first chapter of Doen’s Fall collection is here and there are some good pieces, like these striped shorts that would be perfect for transitioning into Fall (could see it with some great denim layers) or these amazing silk shorts with a red trim.

We took the girls to a Maren Morris concert (Lila’s first ever!) and it was the girliest most fun night of face glitter, sequins and screams when she waved at them from stage. My concert flair was this Merlette sequin bag that is my favorite thing hanging in my closet at the moment. It’s petite and perfect moving into Fall as an unexpected dose of shine to mix with the usual fall layers.
My sisters and I had the best day shopping together in LA. We hopped around The shops at the Sportsman’s Lodge in Studio City had lunch at Sugarfish and made our way to our denim appointment with Lenny—a.k.a vintage Levi’s heaven. Basically you make an appointment, she helps you find some pairs to try (which is not hard, their inventory was SO good) and then if need be she can fit your jeans so they’re perfect, a master with denim. Each of us walked away with two pairs we’re obsessed with, it was beyond fun.
After spending the first part of the summer moving around and traveling I desperately needed some self care rituals plugged back into the mix. I started taking this Alkalize greens powder by Sarah Wragge every morning when I wake up and it’s made such a difference with my energy, digestions and usual sweet tooth. Also loving her Restore powder that I’ve been taking before bed, after hiking, before hot yoga classes and if I’m craving something sweet. I’ve been taking both for almost a month now and feel like I have better energy, definitely less of a sweet tooth and less brain fog. I’m such a fan already.
Here’s to healthy routines! Hope you’re August is off to a good start!
