Heatwave Heroes
What I've been wearing on these hotter than hot days...

Happy Weekend! Before diving into my heatwave go-to’s I wanted to share a few quick clicks that I’ve been excited about…
A new Dorsey collection is out! I love this pendant bead necklace.
I can’t stop talking about the U Beauty Resurfacing Compound that I started using morning/night. People keep asking if I had a facial it’s that good.
Some really good sales happening… Alex Mill (my favorite linen shirt is part of it), EF Jewelry 20% off sitewide (ends tomorrow), Coco & Eve (the best gradual tanning lotion and this SPF body milk that smells and feels so amazing) and the Doen Warehouse sale.
Violet Grey is offering a membership called Close Friends that will get you early access to coveted product launches, membership-only surprise gifts and promotions, 5% back to you from every purchase as VG credit and complimentary 2-day shipping. Truly the coolest brand ever to have a membership with! Sign me up!
Just discovered this French jewelry brand, Bangla Begum—how fun are these earrings and this necklace.
Victoria Beckham foundation drops are back in stock—I have shade 6 light medium and can’t get over how pretty it wears.
The straw sunhat I get asked about once a day is back! And there’s a new style—the flat brim hat.
Moving on…
Last night we stayed at the beach until 8:15 pm because it was so warm and we couldn’t peel ourselves from our chairs. That golden hour after the sun goes down is pure summer magic. We’ve had high 80 degree days for the past week that feel like a sauna when you walk out the door and anything other than a bathing suit and shorts isn’t ideal. I think half of the sand from the beach is currently in my car, wet bikinis draped on our outdoor furniture and a scattering of towels and shells on our front door step… I couldn’t love it more.

For three days in a row I declared the day done after lunch and raced down to the beach with the girls, jumping in the ocean immediately.
I’ve been reaching for really unfussy pieces like these Doen shorts that have served three summers now and continue to be one of my favorite finds from the brand over time—I have them in white and black. They’re so easy over a swimsuit (especially love a balconette style), tee-shirt thrown on top or an oversized linen or denim button down.
Flip flops obviously! Forever a fan of these classic square toe havianas. And not too precious in case some tar gets on them. Obsessed with this enamel anklet that I finally got my hands on—restocked run! On my wishlist the floating diamond anklet to pair with it… so good!
Everyday outfits can start to feel a bit utilitarian in the heat so my solution is reaching for unexpected combinations… something sporty paired with a feminine top (obsessed with this top paired with track or board shorts) or a low back bathing suit worn as a top. Also reaching for a pop of color can break the mundane everyday pieces… a red diamond cord choker is so cool layered or these shorts paired with a colorful vintage tee—currently hunting for some on Etsy and found this one and this one.
Also adding this fun tassel I found in Mexico to almost every bag—reminds me of sunset colors.
While writing this I was looking back at photos and have to laugh at how many times I change outfits in one day… (girls definitely included in that as well!). We’re taking off wet swimsuits, switching shirts, changing out of beach sandals into different ones for dinner, swapping out shorts for a summer dress… the amount of clothes (and things) taking up residency in my car right now is slightly embarrassing.
I found myself slipping into these pants (on sale!) a lot after a shower at home or even to dinner. They’re the best if you’re feeling a bit crispy from the sun (and your skin needs to hide). Any drawstring baggy pant (cotton or linen) is so great to have on hand, even in heatwave… I really love this pair, the pants version of my favorite shorts (in my cart), and this Toteme pair with drawstring ankles.
Love pairing little white baby tees with pants like that… this Leset one is a forever favorite.

I know this seems crazy, but sweaters have been important lately. With heat comes blasting AC and if there’s one thing I don’t love, it’s being cold. So I always have a sweater on hand for grocery store runs, even at home when we crank it up before bedtime and should we be graced with a cool evening.
This cotton roll-neck knit comes in so many fun colors… the key lime green! Love the sailor style collar of this one or this chunky cotton cardigan.
After lots and lots of time in the heat and sun, some skincare extras are most needed. My go-to’s for getting that hydrated glow back…
Agent Nateur resurfacing body cleanser—ideal for getting sunscreen off and the most gentle exfoliator.
The most luxurious body milk that soaks right in and leaves my skin feeling velvety and soft. Also depuffs and reduces cellulite, obsessed with this one!
A leave-in conditioning mask that is ideal for air drying afterwards, another post sun/beach routine I love.
Slathering this cooling mask on my face after the shower puts hydration right back into my skin. Made to treat sun burns too with a cooling affect.
Hydrating afterwards with Dr. Sturm hyaloronic serum and IS Clinical Repairative Moisture Emulsion.
These tanning drops in my moisturizer for an added glow, also love this gradual tanning lotion.
Lastly either YSE lip treatment or this solid lip serum from Sarah Creal.
I’m off to clean out the sand in my car! Hope you’re all having a good summer weekend!
xx Samantha

I’m eyeing that black bikini
Love it! What are you wearing under the Alex Mill denim shirt? Is that a white dress? I love the whole look.
