We’ve officially entered raffia bag season and I couldn’t be more excited, clearly! After retiring my beloved Khaite Osa tote last summer I knew I wanted to get something new for Spring/Summer 2025 and went on a bit of a hunt. In true Goldie Locks form with a few that made their way to my closet and thought I’d share my thoughts between the three.
But first the many reasons why I’d argue everyone should have a great raffia tote and the ways I’m styling mine lately. I love how quickly a raffia bag can make an outfit feel more summery, and light! It’s the quickest way to update year-round pieces to feel seasonally relevant. The usual cashmere sweater and jeans look completely changes gears with some sandals and a raffia tote. They also have a casual yet elevated vibe to them that can take you from the beach to dinner and serve as a great neutral if you’re look begs for a more subdued bag. Summer is my favorite time to pull out a pattern or hit of color and and a no frills raffia bag feels like the dependable friend you’re going to need. Also on a functional level, totes of any sort are the best as you can throw in whatever little bag your using (the old bag in a bag trick) and load up the kids things on top, this is the biggest hack for my life.
With that in mind, here are three I can vouch for.
